Receiving temptations with a peaceful heart

IMG_0095

Trials and temptations, when received by a peaceful heart, bring forth healing and make the soul stronger and healthier. Reacting does nothing but usher in paralysis of the soul, for it binds us to our fallen nature. When we receive all temptations with a peaceful heart, and do not react to outside negative stimulus, we are made stronger for the next round of trials and temptations. And, little by little, we find our heart transformed into the image and likeness of the Prince of Peace, Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Love in Christ,
Abbot Tryphon

  1. This article, Don’t React, surpasses your always pure gold wisdom. HS (Holy Spirit) power, definitely.

I have a new “wallpaper” with your precise, simple statement today. Your succinct sentence desribed both what “reacting” actually does (paralyzes my soul – very, very true!) & why that’s not good (binds me to my fallen nature).

So thank you for writing this piece, Dear Father, as I continued my cardiac catholic collegial studies with you.

Rest assured about my daily prayers for you especially as you strength your soul & body for your coming transformation into one of us “bionics!”

(Remember the old TV series: The 10 Million Dollar Man?) !!!

    Glory Be to God!
    Always & Forever!!!

  2. Without being guilty of falling into externalism: it fills my heart with hope to see that there are Christian women in America who are distanced enough from fashionable ideas to be comfortable covering their heads, and Christian men in America who follow St Clement of Alexandria’s praise of the beard “the symbol of manhood”. There is a righteous remnant.
