After receiving some heavy duty treatment last Wednesday with a new drug and electro-cardioversion, that required hospitalization, the hope was that the heart would revert back into a normal rhythm so I would recover my full strength and stamina. The treatment was a success on the first try. But due to complications, my cardiac output was diminished. So they decided to keep me longer to be able to observe me. This is not uncommon after a return to normal rhythm.
My cardiology nurse and doctor were optimistic, but last night, around 2:30 a.m. I lapsed back into A-Fib. This was totally unexpected. Fr. Paul and Fr. Martin had visited with me for most of the afternoon just yesterday, and observed I had increased energy and pep, more than they had seen in me in a long time. Together, we walked a few laps around his the telemetry unit in the hospital where I had been staying since last Wednesday when I had the procedure.
My cardiologist performed another cardeoversion this morning, and so far it is holding. After being exhausted all afternoon, I am starting to regain my energy. Please keep me in your prayers. Thanks to your prayers, I have been given the blessings of my doctor to travel to Detroit and Baltimore.
With love in Christ,
Abbot Tryphon

Thanks be to God for His mercies to you. I very much miss your morning post when you are unable to send it. I keep you in prayer, that God’s will be done. May the Lord bless your retreats. Looking at the schedule – I wish they could be recorded so the rest of us could benefit! I would be especially interested in the Practical Theology and the Incarnation! May the Lord be with you as you travel, and grant you many more years!
Athanasius and I are continuing to pray that your heart maintains a rhythmic beat that will amaze and astound the best of drummers. white men DO have rhythm. ..even the whitest of Norwegians! we pray it will keep your heart beating on that regular beat God gave you.
Definitely many of us are praying for you. God bless you.
