Becoming partakers of the Divine Nature
Although our regeneration began with baptism, our repentance opens the gates to grace after grace. Repentance is the second regeneration in that through our repentance, the door to the mercy of God opens wide. In being regenerated by God’s mercy, we are justified before God, but not in the judicial sense of evangelical protestant theology, for Orthodox theology holds that justification includes also the actual making of the person righteous. We partake of a “real righteousness” whereby we are in fact made righteous by being “in Christ”.
We become partakers of the Divine Nature by entering the path of theosis or deification. Orthodox theology includes what evangelical protestants understand as regeneration and sanctification in the meaning of justification. Yet the Orthodox Church denies justification by faith alone and includes good works as necessary in justification. This is because justification requires being transformed into the likeness of God, and is included in the process of “deification”, that is, being transformed, by grace, into the likeness of God through union with Christ.

The Scripture Readings
Matthew 11:27-30
27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
1 Corinthians 10:23-28
All to the Glory of God
23 All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify. 24 Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being.
25 Eat whatever is sold in the meat market, asking no questions for conscience’ sake; 26 for “the earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness.”
27 If any of those who do not believe invites you to dinner, and you desire to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no question for conscience’ sake. 28 But if anyone says to you, “This was offered to idols,” do not eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for conscience’ sake; for “the earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness.”
Matthew 24:34-44
34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
No One Knows the Day or Hour
36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

There was once in an English political party a quote eg,we only want the earth ? I never thought that this was devicive as what it means is this.In a world of iniquity a such we only need the benevolence of God in his mercy to provide us with sun earth water fire wind ? trees and the ability to grow food nurture animals to eat and build shelters against the storms of life, this tells us that we are fortunate to feel the direct work of God within us. we have become faulty and greedy and more in numbers than ever before and more problems are found. perhaps we should return to the huts in the wilderness and contemplate our state and take Gods divine gift of silence to become aware of the almighty around us in eternity, From Ian Laidlaw Wilson, second cousin to Brother,Spiridon.
Very good! Could you do a post on theoria and what it is, what happens if you do not experience it, etc…
If you do not feel the benevolence of God then one has nothing to share with humankind one remains in a bubble until that bubble is pierced and the richness of God enters in his son Jesus walked as a pauper and this should be a lesson to us all in these very disturbing times i pray iniquity will diminish and millions more can find harmony and understanding before the future of Gods action activates change
