Escape From This Hell
“The escape from this hell of addiction to food cannot be anything but prayer, the reestablishment of our ontological dependence on God. But if we eat and feel we betrayed God, we will never escape this hell. We must do what He teaches us: do everything with Him. When we do something with Him, that something is a prayer: of thanksgiving, of praise, even of request. Therefore, let us turn the act of eating, of chewing and swallowing, into a prayer. Let us be aware then that we eat God’s goodness, which became food for us, and that, taking it with gratitude, it will become an Eucharist. And let us share our food offering with those who are hungry!”
