Please remember Igumen Tryphon in your prayers this week.

I’m being admitted to Swedish Hospital’s Cherry Hill Campus Cardiac Unit in Seattle, on Monday, November 2nd, for three days of procedures to try to get my heart out of Atrial Fibrillation. I therefore am asked for prayers, that the Lord will guide my cardiologist, and that I will be restored to health, and enabled to return to my duties as abbot of the monastery.

I will not be posting my usual articles on Facebook, or my blog, “The Morning Offering”, during my hospital stay. Nor will I be recording my podcasts for Ancient Faith Radio on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, but will be returning to that ministry by Thursday, if it pleases God. Please forgive me for those days when I’m not providing the inspirational words that I know are valued and needed by so many of you.

If it be God’s will that my life end this week, please pray for the soul of this miserable sinner, asking that the Lord have mercy on me, and overlook the multitude of sins and failures that have been the hallmark of my life.

With love in Christ,
Abbot Tryphon

The Scripture Readings

Colossians 2:13-20

13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. 18 Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God.

20 Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations—

Luke 9:18-22

Peter Confesses Jesus as the Christ

18 And it happened, as He was alone praying, that His disciples joined Him, and He asked them, saying, “Who do the crowds say that I am?”

19 So they answered and said, “John the Baptist, but some say Elijah; and others say that one of the old prophets has risen again.”

20 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

Peter answered and said, “The Christ of God.”

Jesus Predicts His Death and Resurrection

21 And He strictly warned and commanded them to tell this to no one, 22 saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.”Requesting Prayers

  7. Your blessing
most of the time with A. Fibrillation the cause is not the heart, but the discs in the back that are compressing together and the nerves attached to the heart cause the issues. The best remedy is a bone broth to try and repair the discs. Glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM , hyaluranic acid , collagen can help heal this issue. There are vegan sources for some of these nutirients.

  28. It is a beautiful sunny day here in Seattle. It gives so much hope in this broken world to see the sun shining. I agree with all the prayers above. Fr. Tryphon, you are such a blessing to so many. I pray for the Peace that passes understanding, God’s pure light and calm to surround you as you go through this time of treatment. I look forward to your messages when you return to your lovely place of ministry. The harvest is plentiful and the workers few. Let us each go forward in the way we are able to make the world a better place. Prayers for the ones who need rest and healing in their journey, Fr. Tryphon we lift you up with gratitude and hope. God has not given us a spirit of fear but His spirit of power, love and a sound mind. Amen

(I wrote this message in Swedish since Fr Tryphon is in a Swedish hospital, I hope it will pass any censuring because of that, for it is a message of love and hope for recovery, God Bless him)
